ABILENE, Texas - Capt. Linda Dulude Jeffrey, a former Abilene High and Hardin-Simmons standout, recently won the World Military Golf Championship for the second straight year playing at Gary Player Golf Course in Sun City, South Africa. She won the title by 15 strokes with a four round total of 322. It was the second straight year she has dominated the field. She qualified for the Championship by winning her third straight and fifth overall Air Force Golf Championship. She shot a 4-over 288 in the Air Force Championship. She also won the armed Forces Golf Championship in September in Virginia. She shot 70-69-71-75-285 and finished 3-under. She won the title by 22 strokes and had the lowest score of all the men and women in the tournament. It was her second straight and third overall title in her career at the tournament. She also paced the USAF team to the women's team title. Her accomplishments have won her a great deal of recognition as she was the Air Force Reserve Command Female Athlete of the Year in 2006 and 2007 and she was named the Air Force Female Athlete of the Year. Dulude Jeffrey was an All-American player at Hardin-Simmons. |
